Ithuba Youth Economic Development Programme 2026
City of Tshwane
About this Bursary
The Ithuba Youth Economic Development Programme (IYEDP) 2026 is a City of Tshwane initiative for young people aged 18 to 35 years. It provides access to multiple economic pathways including: skills development and training, artisan and technical training (plumbing, electrical, welding, vehicle mechanics, fitting and turning, boilermaking), driver's licence assistance, entrepreneurship and business development (with an initial R8 million allocation for youth entrepreneurship), work-readiness support, internship opportunities, job placement support, and supplier development. Registration on the official portal does not guarantee employment, internships, funding or training — each opportunity has its own eligibility requirements, application process and selection criteria. Partners include SEDA, Takealot, NYDA, Microsoft South Africa, and SAMDDRA.
