About this Bursary

KPMG South Africa is inviting students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2027 academic year. The bursary funds full-time studies towards a SAICA accredited Chartered Accountancy CA(SA) qualification. It comes in two forms: a pure merit bursary based on academic results, and a merit bursary with financial need for students who cannot afford university without support. Coverage includes funding towards SAICA accredited CA(SA) studies (value determined by KPMG based on circumstances and available funds) and a guaranteed training contract (articles) with KPMG after graduation. Eligibility: South African citizens who have completed Matric; studying full-time towards a SAICA accredited CA(SA) qualification at a SAICA accredited university; strong Matric results with A symbols (excluding Life Orientation); 1st year: min 65% overall and 70% Accounting; 2nd year: min 65% overall and 65% Accounting; 3rd year: min 60% overall and 60% Accounting; Honours/CTA: min 50% overall and 55% Accounting; must be able to complete degree in minimum years; financial need applicants must provide proof of household financial circumstances. Required documents: certified ID, certified Matric certificate, certified academic record/transcripts, proof of university registration, updated fee statement, CV, and for financial need: parents/guardians proof of income, three months bank statements, recent utility bill, affidavits where applicable. Application is a two-step process: first apply for a KPMG Training Contract on the KPMG graduate careers portal and note your reference number, then complete the online bursary application using that reference number.
